Artist's Comments

I imagine Dora Tonks was a rebel growing up. If Remus ever met her before she graduated Hogwarts, she would've reminded him of a young Sirius, only female and with pink hair, gangly and awkward. Raising her would've been a daily disaster waiting to happen.

- Dora, couldn't you wear normal clothes today?
- The robes are uncomfortable on a broom, mum.

- Dora, is that a tattoo?
- No, mum. See, nothing there.

- Dora, that really is not a proper place for a wand, do you want to lose your . . .
- Dad, I'll metamorph them back on.

- Dora, what happened to your eyes?
- I couldn't decide on one color today, tomorrow they'll to be green and black.

- Dora, take that thing out of your mouth right now!
- Mum, it's not tobacco, see. They're harmless - Alastor Moody has one, he wouldn't own something dangerous.

- Dora . . .
- Just call me Tonks.
- Argh!

HP fanart, a quick sketchy work, 5-6 hours yesterday and today. Mostly OpenCanvas, some Dogwaffle and Imageready post-editing.

very lovely picture. Tonks is very recogniseable. I like the originality of her clothing and the little eccentric touches like the collar and the pipe which really make her such an interesting character. The tatoo's very cool. I like the pale, almost watercolour-look to the picture, and the lovely lighting. nice use of colour and the skin tones are well done. It all looks generally well in proportion, however that hand on her hip looks a little too large and she looks rather slumped - but maybe that's just the way she holds herself. The arm closest looks also a bit on the large side and her whole posture seems a little twisted oddly. But I like the lighting in her hair, and the folds of her top - the jeans are very well drawn. The background is also lovely. Your little conversations with Tonks are hilarious!

Thank you for the lovely comment, Moondarri. I like telling stories with my art so I usually incorporate a lot of detail into character design. I see what you mean about the hands. Ack, should've used references. Saw it too late and couldn't do anything to fix it. When I am drawing, I usually come up with a story for my art, the conversations is what I had going through my head when finishing this piece. :) Glad they made someone laugh.
